Gilles Peress (* 29. Dezember 1946 in Frankreich) ist ein französischer Dokumentar-Fotograf/Bildreporter.

Ausbildung
Von 1966-1968 besuchte er das Institut d'Etudes Politiques, anschließend bis 1971 die Universität in Vincennes. 1972 stieß er zu der legendären Foto-Agentur Magnum Photos. 1984/85 war er deren stellvertretender Vorsitzender, 1986/87 sowie 1989-90 Vorsitzender. Geschäftlich vertreten wird er von der Galerie Howard Greenberg, New York.
